CSS-extractor is a tool dedicated to webmasters, or can also be used for an e-book reader engine (why I designed it in the first place). css-extractor takes all the internal CSS (defined in the header) and the inline CSS elements (defined in the style attributes of any HTML tag) and extracts them to an external CSS file, while making all the correct references in the webpage.

Of course css-extractor will mutualize the style references (by calculating a hash-code) in order to produce the minimum amount of styles. It will create one and only one style, even if this style is written a lot of different ways, for example if its elements (such as font-size, color, line-height, margin, alignment...) are written in a different order, with spaces in them, in more than one line, or in mixed case.

css-extractor was written to be fast and efficient. A very bloated webpage of 1 MB, full of inline styles, will be treated in just 1 second!

css-extractor is smart enough to handle correctly multiple CSS classes for a single element (it merges them the right way) and also proposes a "cleaning" option to get rid of the unused CSS styles in your page. This is particularly useful for webpages generated automatically, for example by Microsoft Word.
