MacroMaker will allow you to create macros or recordings to automate most anything that you already do by hand.

MacroMaker was written more for the use of people who regularly use computers and programmers rather than the casual PC user. Most anything you know how to do by hand can be translated into a macro or recording in MacroMaker.

MacroMaker is truly a free piece of software for personal home use, but the author would not refuse a donation if the software proved useful to you.

MacroMaker has been out since August of 2000 and has proven to be extremely helpful to it's users.

MacroMaker has been tested on Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, 2003 and XP.

Due to the User Account Control(UAC), Windows 7 and Vista do not allow applications access to the lower level functions needed for creating and playing back recordings or using the "Word or Phrase" trigger. That is unless I(The Author) purchase and maintain a digitally signed certificate. That will probably not happen unless I start charging for the application.

If the UAC is disabled MacroMaker will operate correctly.

Disabling the UAC is NOT RECOMMENDED. It is there for security reasons.

However, if you would like to you can disable the UAC in Windows 7 by going to the "Control Panel" and selecting "System and Security", then select "Review your computer's status", then select "User Account Control Settings". Â Slide the bar to "Never notify". Â You must now restart Windows. I have never bothered figuring out how to do this in Vista because I used Vista once.

The user can simulate a series of keystrokes, mouse events, play back previous recordings of keystrokes and mouse events or execute some built-in functions with just a keystroke. You can even store content from the clipboard in internal MacroMaker buffers for later use.

In order to install MacroMaker you must have "Windows Installer 2.0 Redistributable or later" loaded on your machine. If the MacroMakerInst.msi file will not execute on your machine, you must find the installation, on Microsoft's web site, for the appropriate version of the installer based upon the operating system you are running. Follow Microsoft's instructions for installation of the installer and after which try to execute the MacroMakerInst.msi file again. If you still have no luck, click here for instructions on how to manually install MacroMaker.

After installation of MacroMaker you will have to manually run the application the first time or reboot you machine. MacroMaker automatically opens on startup. When it starts up you will see the MacroMaker icon appear in the system tray beside your clock. Click it once and the main application window will appear.
