Patent Grabber makes it easy to download U.S. patents and published applications, European patents and published applications, and PCT published applications for free from public patent archives.

Instead of going to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office or European Patent Office web site and loading and printing patent or application pages one at a time with your web browser, you simply give Patent Grabber a list of patents or applications and click "Get Patents." Patent Grabber then downloads every page of all the patents or applications to your computer while you do something else. And once the patents are downloaded, they are yours to keep and print from Patent Grabber's special Patents folder at any time.

In either case, if the patent was issued after 1975, you have the option of also receiving the text of the patent in HTML format so that you can copy and paste the text from your web browser into a word processor, if desired. PCT and European applications, as well as European patents, are in Acrobat format, only. The bibliography (and text, if available) of PCT and European applications may also be downloaded.

Version 4 added the ability to download INPADOC international legal status summaries for multiple patents and/or applications. This data is made available by the European Patent Office's "Open Patent Services" system. The summaries are in text format, so they may be viewed, edited and printed using any word processing program or text editor.

U.S. Patent Searching:
Three search interfaces for U.S. patents (Quick, Advanced and Issuance) and published applications (Quick, Advanced and Publication) are provided that are easier-to-use versions of the USPTO's "Quick" and "Advanced" searching systems.

You can insert search field codes into your query using a dropdown list, and a special Date Interface guides you through the process of entering dates and date ranges in the proper USPTO format. A dropdown list of countries will assist you in finding the correct two-letter code when you choose a search field that requires the entry of a Country Code.

The INPADOC family information tells you about patents and applications in the U.S. and many other countries that are in some way related to a patent or application that is in your search results. The data is made available by the European Patent Office. The list of family information may be printed or saved in tab-delimited format.
