The main purpose of SYE Timer is block access to a computer at once or twice an hour. This is necessary to your eyes. They need rest during work on the computer. The program SYE Timer blocks your computer on a time interval of 30 minutes or 1 hour. Moreover, it blocks not only the basic keyboard shortcuts such as Alt + Tab, Alt + Esc, Ctrl + Esc, the key Win, and Task Manager. After finishing the program, all locks and restrictions are removed. This definitely protects against the closure of "boring" program. SYE Timer is a portable application written in C #, which requires .NET Framework. Fortunately Windows 7 has it by default, and Windows XP has usually .NET 2.0 or higher. Therefore, the program should work on all version of Windows from XP and earlier. I compiled the program under version 2.0 of .NET for compatibility with Windows XP.
Application consists of only one executable file. The program can be placed anywhere on your computer and start from there. Next time SYE Timer will start automatically if you do not remove it from the startup in program settings. Also you can delete the program itself. If you start the program on your home computer to check your children you'd better do not give them information about the location of the program and its settings. For such cases when you run the program first time it will display a dialog box with a choice of settings that can be set only once. And also you have to set check box "Enable protection of settings (child mode)" on. In "Child mode" the program settings are no longer available, and SYE Timer do not show links to the site and to the help file. If SYE Timer runs while you are doing an urgent work, you have an opportunity to postpone the program launch for 1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes but only ONCE. The program will "sleep" at a selected time and when it "wakes up" the possibility of timer delay will be gone. However while the program is sleeping Task Manager is still locked.
